Tonya Keach   BS, CBP, RYT, KYTA

Tonya graduated Magna Cum Laude from Illinois State University in 1999 with additional honors in psychology. After working in the field she soon discovered that her passion for empowering clients would take her beyond the scope of traditional social service. She began to seek out other opportunities within the community to help people find inner harmony and wellbeing.

Through her own explorations of alternative health Tonya came to the practice of yoga. Though she had been working with the practice at home for some time, it was not until she started formal study with a teacher did she see how profoundly yoga could affect people’s lives. After only a short while, she realized that her love for yoga was one that she needed to share with others. She completed certification in Prenatal yoga and became a Certified Kripalu Yoga Teacher in 2002. Over the years she has developed many classes that assist students in connecting with and honoring their own inner wisdom.

It was also in 2002 that Tonya was first introduced to The BodyTalk System while attending a yoga retreat in Costa Rica. She chose BodyTalk as the one healing arts session that she would indulge in while there because it was a modality she was unfamiliar with, and it was noted, that “profound results can be realized in one session”. Without any major ailments, BodyTalk still changed her life. After years of excitedly telling everyone about her experience, Tonya finally decided to become a Certified BodyTalk Practitioner.

Tonya’s clients have seen improvements in the areas of: arthritis, chronic pain, sleep disturbances, shallow breathing, viruses, scars, and many more. She has taken Modules 1&2, Advanced Practical 1&2, and Mindscape.

“It is so satisfying to see how BodyTalk has brought together my educational background and passions in life. Through The BodyTalk System I am able to utilize my skills in the most profound ways to help people realize and connect with the healing energy that already resides within themselves.”

Karen Ridinger Certified Reiki Practitioner

Karen has been striving to live by the Reiki ideals since the birth of her first child over 12 years ago. She received her Reiki I and Reiki II degrees from Sr. Ann Matheiu, OSF, in Springfield through the auspices of the Mind, Body and Wellness Center at St. Johns' Hospital. Reiki treatments have been successful in providing improvements in health issues such as

• Migraines
• Troubled sleep patterns
• Depression
• Arthritis
• Back aches
• Knee problems
• Addictions
• High blood pressure
• PMS
• Also works on animals

Reiki has also proven beneficial in combating the negative side effects associated with modern medical treatments. After years of practice and positive feedback on family and friends she enjoys sharing the benefits of Reiki with a broader audience.

When moving to the Bloomington/Normal area this opportunity presented itself at Main Street Yoga and Healing Arts where she opened her doors and maintains her professional practice. When a person comes through the door for a Reiki treatment they will lie fully clothed on a traditional massage table. As the Reiki practitioner begins the placing of hands over the prescribed areas, the client will begin to feel great relaxation as the life force energy is transferred through her hands. Reiki energy will flow to those points where it will assist with the greatest healing good, regardless of where the hand placement may occur. The client may experience improvement in physical, mental, spiritual or emotional domains. A treatment often brings toxins in the body to the surface to be flushed away, bringing the body more into balance and wholeness. A full treatment generally lasts one hour, with the client often waking rejuvenated.

In addition to her Reiki practice, Karen co-hosts a Reiki circle for area practitioners on the 2nd and 4th Monday's of each month. She is also apprenticing for her Reiki Mastership under Reiki Master Richard Casey of St. Louis, Mo. To help and prepare her for this next step in her Reiki journey she continues to organize Reiki I and II courses for Richard to teach in the Bloomington/Normal area. They are currently offered on a quarterly basis, or as demand determines, and are available to all who are interested.

Contact Karen directly with any questions or to schedule treatments at 309.706.2079 or email at k.ridinger@yahoo.com.
