Yoga for Men

Yoga is a great way to increase flexibility, endurance, and relaxation. It is also great for restoring balance and symmetry to the body for all those “one sided” sports men play like golf, tennis, baseball, and basketball. Yoga is also proven to be most effective for reducing belly fat, regulating sleep and improving digestion. In addition, this class will target areas of concern for men like prostate health, heart disease and back pain. Everyone works at their own pace. All ages welcome. No experience necesssary! Taught by a former carpenter, truck driver, athlete and general contractor, this class will be especially attractive to athletes, tradesmen, and your garden-variety couch potatoes!
Location: Main Street Studio
Time: Tuesday 5:30 – 7:00 pm
Instructor: Jeffrey Shoaf

Prenatal Yoga

In prenatal yoga we create a supportive, loving environment in which to celebrate the journey of motherhood. Women are encouraged to follow the natural rhythm of introspection and transformation that pregnancy brings. Our practice of yoga cultivates a trust in the pregnant body and its innate wisdom. Through the union of breath and movement, women find relief from physical discomfort and prepare the body-mind for birth. By beginning our class with a sharing circle, we hold a safe and sacred space for everyone. This is a time to gather resources and ask questions, share exciting news, and reach out for support. Many lasting friendships have been made as mothers bond not only with their babies, but also each other. Together we find the courage to be authentic and honest so that we may dissolve the barriers that keep us from living fully and birthing smoothly. Pregnancy is often called “an everyday miracle”. With prenatal yoga, we allow ourselves to be less in the everyday, and more in the miracle.

Tonya Keach proudly been teaching prenatal yoga in 2002. Once introduced into the world of birth, she quickly felt a passion take hold. After over a decade of teaching, that passion has only grown stronger. In 2008 she became a mother herself. It was an amazing homebirth that brought her greatest teacher, her daughter, into the world. Tonya feels blessed to continue to be a part of pregnancy for hundreds of women in our community, and is beginning to offer retreats for mothers in waiting. She awaits the excitement of seeing her “yoga babies” become “yoga mamas” themselves one day. Tonya also has an alternative medicine practice using the BodyTalk System.
